Ya, this is a phoney “priorities” survey eh. The other big beef I have with ceasefire.ca , and something I had hoped to see in this survey, is the attitude towards the situation in Ukraine – management seems to think the new govt is alright, along the lines of Canada’s PM and official government position on the Ukraine.

  2. George KellyJanuary 2, 2018 at 7:41 pm #

Why can we not do this survey > What is the problem? Is it technical or a human difficulty?

    • Jan SlakovJanuary 3, 2018 at 1:02 am #

I thought Ceasefire wanted input on priorities. .. Canada is hosting discussions re: North Korea in Vancouver and some activists are planning a vigil and other actions. I hope to find people in other places in BC, maybe in Canada, to hold solidarity vigils. We can support this petition: https://act.rootsaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=13181

I am very pleased with Christa Freeland, except we have to decide on our own destination and not become a puppy of Trumps warmongering. Let’s not be afraid when it comes to OUR Canadian decisions if they don’t please Trump! The European Union is now going their own way in supporting the Iran nuclear deal and so should we. Also, we should not agree with Trump about Palestine and Jerusalem to be Israels capital !

There was a glitch in the new programme we used which now has been fixed. And please feel free to add further comments here or email us with any further suggestions you have. This survey is a very basic one that has been done from the inception of Ceasefire.ca. To expand it at this time would cost us scarce dollars that we need for our programmes.

I too am disgusted with Chrystia Freeland nor am I too pleased with our PM after all he was the one that chose her for the position , as that old adage goes show me your friends and I will know what you are about!!.Canada is sending the wrong message to the world ,it’s very dis hearting.

    • Roland TrenamanJanuary 2, 2018 at 7:44 pm #

I support 100% this contributors comments.

    • Gayle McIntyreJanuary 6, 2018 at 3:03 am #

Yes, I find Chrysia Freeland chosen as foreign affairs minister a complete farce. It casts a doubt on the actual purpose of WWII and other dubious agendas for ongoing wars around the world.

  4. Chris EmbersonJanuary 2, 2018 at 7:25 pm #

I was not allowed to complete the survey. I am truly disappointed.

    • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:33 am #

Dear Chris, Please try again. There was a glitch in the programme that cut off responses after 100 had been received. It should be fixed now. We are very sorry for this error!

Same here about “form is no longer accepting submissions.” Still thank you for your work. As I listen to CBC radio, I’m continually shocked over the past 10 years at the amount of CBC ‘war-propaganda’ ‘hate-speech’ which is raised against Canada, Israel, USA & NATO’s perceived enemies. The CBC is a hate-&-fear-fest against Russia, Iran, Syria, Libya, Venezuela, China, Yemen, Sudan, Hamas, Hezbollah & others who are not following our oligarch marching orders of obedient submission & exploitation. Even though I come from Jewish & Christian roots, I can clearly see how CBC in no way provides balanced reporting from all sides of the conflicts which we arm & finance in the Middle-east. The CBC is trying to foster war, even nuclear-war & its talking heads across all programs make no mention of their corporate hate-speech. For every 1000 mention of Christian (800) & Jewish (200) religious ceremonies only about 2 are given for Muslim ceremonies & less than 1 for all other belief, ceremonies & practices from around the world. While there has never been balance in Canada’s public media, how did oligarchs gain such unabashed control? Colonial human language is filled with opposites based in colonial propaganda violence, which unfortunately restricts what we can conceive of as viable human systems. https://sites.google.com/site/indigenecommunity/structure/5-collaborative-language . Its a blessing that somehow Canada’s 1st Nations have achieved a modicum of exposure recently for their & all Canada’s real human issues, which seem to contradict the hate such oligarch-controlled CBC calls for.

  10. Daphne M. TaylorJanuary 2, 2018 at 5:59 pm #

It said on the email that this site is no longer accepting submissions. Is that so? Daphne

    • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:38 am #

Dear Daphne, A glitch in the programme capped responses at 100. It has hopefully been corrected so please do try again. Our sincere apologies for this error.

  11. Scott ProsserJanuary 2, 2018 at 5:48 pm #

I received a message thats the site was closed for the survey.

    • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:44 am #

  12. Can't fill survey either...January 2, 2018 at 5:46 pm #

Fully agree with Anne Streeter’s comment on Crystia Freeland.

  13. John DaleJanuary 2, 2018 at 4:55 pm #

Survey closed already, this is more like a Russian Presidential election!

    • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:48 am #

Dear John, No this was not a plot but an unfortunate error where the programme capped the responses at 100. It should be fixed now. So please do try again. Note that we take account of all of the comments on the Survey page, not just the actual survey results.

  14. David MaxwellJanuary 2, 2018 at 4:39 pm #

Same issue: email invitation received an hour ago, website says “form no longer accepting submissions”. Looks like sample of 1, judging by there being only a single comment above.

    • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:49 am #

Dear David, Our sincere apologies for a mistake that led to the programme capping responses at 100. Hopefully it is fixed now. Please do try again! And feel free to add any additional comments as we take them fully into account.

  15. Ali R.January 2, 2018 at 4:38 pm #

Your 2-minute survey does not seem to be working. It says “Sorry, but this form is no longer accepting submissions.”

    • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:53 am #

Dear Ali, Our very sincere apologies for a mistake in the programme that prevented you from filling it out. Hopefully this has been fixed so please do try again. Also feel free to add any additional comments.

  16. Ed LehmanJanuary 2, 2018 at 4:37 pm #

I share Anne Streeter’s concerns. I am also sure Chrystia Freeland has not supported world disarmament in any way. She certainly did not support Canada signing the nuclear test ban treaty or congratulate Setsuko Thurlow on her speech in Oslo at the acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize by the International Committee Against Nuclear Weapons. The speech she made in June justifying an increased military build-up by Canada was not fitting a minister of international affairs. Ms. Freeland should be replaced by someone interested in world peace.

  17. Ralph CoshJanuary 2, 2018 at 4:25 pm #

Received the email request to complete the survey 42 minutes ago, and already you are no longer accepting people to fill it out. How many could have filed it out in 42 minutes. Small survey sample I guess.

    • Carolyn HallJanuary 2, 2018 at 4:37 pm #

cannot do survey – says it is closed

      • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:54 am #

Dear Carolyn, Our apologies for an error in the programme. Please do try again!

    • Howard A. DoughtyJanuary 2, 2018 at 4:40 pm #

Or maybe the Rideau Institute has been hacked and smacked by the Canadian Security Establishment?

      • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:57 am #

Dear Howard, Our sincere apologies for an error that prevented you from filling out the survey. Please do try again. And we take full account of any additional comments.

      Same

      • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:58 am #

Dear Michael, Our sincere apologies for the error. Please do try again.

    • Ceasefire.caJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:50 am #

Dear Ralph, Our very sincere apologies for an error that capped the programme at 100 responses. We have now hopefully remedied that error so please do try again.

  18. Anne StreeterJanuary 2, 2018 at 4:16 pm #

Very concerned about Chrystia Freeland! She hates Russia, supports neo nazi Ukraine, she has permission to send military hardware to Ukraine, continues to send arms to Saudi Arabia, she supports the opposition in Venezuela and the opposition in Iran! She is not behaving like a top diplomat! Has she taken Justin Trudeau in this direction? I think Trudeau Sr. would not be a happy camper!

    • Roland TrenamanJanuary 2, 2018 at 7:53 pm #

You expressed my opinion 100%. Its great that Canada invites people of difffering countries here, but once here their allegiences have to be 100% to Canada not to their country of orign. In my view such diasporas the Ukrainian and Jewish lobby groups are traitors

      5

      • john parryJanuary 3, 2018 at 1:08 pm #

I do not feel they are traitors BUT we do need to ”call them out’ when they clearly put their country (or religion) of origin BEFORE their status as Canadians.

    • Gayle McIntyreJanuary 6, 2018 at 3:10 am #

Such a relieve others have noticed this as our msm seems oblivious to the real facts.
