Today is the Global Day of Action On Military Spending. How would you spend the money wasted wasted on weapons and war?

A new report examining the government’s plans to build Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ships has just been released by the Rideau Institute and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.

On March 3rd Ceasefire.ca supporters and allies responded en masse to Be Heard – No Attack Drones! Nearly 6,000 letters have been sent so far! Ceasefire.ca has received responses from the Green Party and the NDP.

Thousands of emails and postcards are being sent to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other party leaders, and we are more than halfway to our goal of delivering 10,000 messages to Parliament. But there is a lot more work to be done.

March 22nd was Kevin Page’s last day as Parliamentary Budget Officer, and Ceasefire.ca would like to thank him for consistently demanding transparency from the Harper government.
