We call on Canada to bring its international policies vis-à-vis Ukraine and Israel into full compliance with the fundamental principles of the UN Charter.
In Ukraine and the Middle East, Canada is not an “honest broker”

We call on Canada to bring its international policies vis-à-vis Ukraine and Israel into full compliance with the fundamental principles of the UN Charter.
We call on the Government of Canada to demonstrate a commitment to international law commensurate with Canada’s historic role therein and befitting a nation seeking a seat on the UN Security Council.
We call on Canada to demonstrate “strict adherence to the rule of law and respect for human rights” by taking an unequivocal stand against the illegal sanctioning of humanitarian goods.
Whatever the outcome of Canada’s Security Council bid, robust mechanisms for sustained, substantive civil society engagement are an indispensable part of enhancing Canadian capacity for UN leadership on peace and security.
Canada should engage much more fully in the Doha Forum multilateral dialogue process, both as an extremely worthwhile endeavour in its own right, and as a much-needed counterbalance to our troubling relations with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
We are in pre-election planning mode. Join us in our urgent effort to energize and mobilize progressives in all the federal parties to develop strong, innovative peacebuilding platforms.
