The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons’ civil society forum kicks off this Saturday, December 6th!

As UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon observes, “Nuclear disarmament is one of the greatest legacies we can pass on to future generations.”
This September 26th, 2014 marks the first observance of the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons as designated by the United Nations. In honour of this day, the UN will be holding commemorative events both at its headquarters in New York and at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

Five years after affirming his support for a nuclear-weapon-free world, President Barack Obama has approved a secret ten-year extension of the U.S. nuclear cooperation agreement with the United Kingdom.

Join Ceasefire.ca for our annual day of action to call for the abolition of nuclear weapons, to be held on Wednesday, August 6th – the 69th anniversary of the horrific atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945.

On April 24th, The Marshall Islands filed a landmark lawsuit in the International Court of Justice and the U.S. Federal District Court demanding that the nuclear states live up to their disarmament obllgations.
