The United Nations’ High Representative for Disarmament, Angela Kane, is among those asking Canada to sign the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty
So far 115 countries have signed the UN Arms Trade Treaty, including the United States, the U.K., France, and many other allies — but the Harper government has not signed.
The Harper government spent taxpayers’ money to send Steve Torino, the President of the Canadian Shooting Sports Association, to a conference on the UN Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons, despite the fact the CSSA dismissed the Programme as not “even remotely important.”
The United States signed the Arms Trade Treaty last week, raising the total number of signatures to 107.
