The Globe and Mail covers "42 Minutes with Obama"

Congratulations Ceasefire.ca contributor Grace Isaak! The Globe and Mail’s website mentioned Ceasefire.ca’s “42 Minutes with Obama” campaign yesterday, quoting Grace’s submission.

Harper, Obama talk Afghanistan and economy

Several activist organization set up websites and were encouraging Canadians to use the meeting to send their own messages to the leaders.

“42 Minutes with Obama,” hosted on Ceasefire.ca , a website maintained by the Ottawa-based research and advocacy group the Rideau Institute included this message to the President – “I do not understand why you are not only continuing the war in Afghanistan but are, in fact, increasing the number of American troops there” – from Grace Isaak.

Afghanistan, where a raging Islamic insurgency has made this summer the bloodiest since the war was launched to topple the Taliban in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, looms over the Harper-Obama meetings.

The pro-war website, The Torch, howled in protest. Hey, we must be doing something right!
