Harper seeking to increase arms exports

The Conservative government is trying to ease restrictions on arms exports to four countries – Peru, Chile, Brazil and South Korea.

During Nuclear Abolition Week (6-13 July), humanitarian, environmental and peace organisations are taking to the streets in a concerted effort to demand the start of a process to ban nuclear weapons.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s plan for armed drones is not much more than a faint blip on Ottawa’s radar screen, so the recent increase in media coverage on the subject is good news.

If you are passionate about making a positive change in the world by helping to ban nuclear weapons then please sign up to be a Ceasefire.ca volunteer campaigner.

A very generous Ceasefire.ca supporter has offered to match every donation made by other supporters, dollar for dollar, until we reach our goal. That’s incredible!

When you put all the pieces together, it’s clear that Harper wants to do a lot more than be able to send commandos, stealth fighters, and drones to fight wars around the world. Now he wants to sell billions in arms internationally, making Canada a global weapons dealer.
